TASHI (Tibetan for "good fortune")
Together again for the first time in thirty years, pianist Peter Serkin, violinist Ida Kavafian, cellist Fred Sherry and clarinetist Richard Stoltzman play the work for which they originally formed: Olivier Messiaen's gripping Quartet for the End of Time - music composed and first heard in a German prisoner-of-war camp. This once in a lifetime reunion celebrates two centenaries: Messiaen's and Sasha Schneider's, the musical statesman who presented TASHI's debut 35 years ago.

"The quartet has lost none of its magic...Best of all was the way all four players could be themselves but also seem acutely attuned to the others. That was the old Tashi, but it is also the older, wiser, maybe a bit slower but more transcendental than ever reunited Tashi."
